The Synology RackStation RS1221RP+ is a compact 2U, eight-bay rackmount NAS built to centralise business data, backups and shared services while improving power resilience. Dual 350W redundant power supplies help maintain operation if one power supply or power feed is interrupted. Its AMD Ryzen V1500B quad-core processor and 4GB of ECC DDR4 memory support demanding multi-user workloads, with memory expandable to 32GB. Eight hot-swappable SATA bays support 3.5" and 2.5" drives, while an RX418 expansion unit increases the system to twelve bays. Four Gigabit Ethernet ports provide flexible connectivity, and the PCIe slot supports optional 10GbE, 25GbE or NVMe cache upgrades. Synology DiskStation Manager adds Btrfs protection, snapshots, backup, virtualisation, collaboration and surveillance capabilities. Supplied diskless, it can be configured around specific performance, capacity and redundancy requirements.
